Social Media is a great tool to include in your marketing mix, but sometimes it can be hard to keep up and even to utilize effectively. We’ve put together to top 10 tips that will help you get the most out of your social media campaign and take your digital marketing to the next level.
1. Focus on your audiences’ platform
Not all social media is created equal. If you’re looking to reach a certain demographic, you have to know where to find them. If you’re a company that is looking to reach a young audience and you know that they enjoy Instagram Stories, Facebook Stories and SnapChat, then you better get on the live post grind.
We help consult and partnered with Spotify and Yelp (being the only exclusive Yelp Agency in Hawaii) which allows us to provide a variety of options to our clients in order to reach a broader demographic. An agency can specialize, yes, but if you’re really looking to make a mark with customers you need options.
2. Organize Yourself
As we work closely with clients, we find it very interesting that most clients plan post a week in advance or they plan posts on a daily basis. You’ll find it easier to plan at the very least 30-days in advance putting together a social media calendar to help keep you organized.
You’ll find it surprising that you can catch mistakes or prepare ahead of time for campaigns that you normally wouldn’t have thought of. Donut Day anyone?
3. Understand the Technology and What it is
If you’re going to choose a social media platform, know the ins and outs of the software. Do you know how to maximize all of the platforms features? Do you know how to combine advertising with content to create a winning campaign? This is what it means to understand technology. If you have an event coming up, make sure to create a Facebook event. If you’re an ecommerce organization, learn how to sell products online. If you’re a YouTube, know how to read the analytics in order to see what content your viewers wish to watch. It only makes sense that you use technology to your advantage and not your disadvantage.
4. Quality over Quantity
In the age of distractions, it is important to create content worth reading. If you create a post like, “Have a great Aloha Friday” it can be short and simple but isn’t everyone else wishing people, “Aloha Friday”? Think outside the box and pair it with a compelling picture or “Aloha Friyay! Get FREE french fries with your 8oz burger” if you’re a burger company like our client, Mahaloha Burger. There is value in your post and you’re giving a reason for customers to come to your page.
5. Leverage Partnerships
All to often we find clients that hardly leverage their partnerships. If you’re visiting a school, tag the school. If you’re spending the day with a local non-profit, engage with the non-profit. Hanging out with an influencer, let people know! Most of the times, we collaborate in business partnerships because it makes sense but rarely you see businesses leverage a partnership to help boost their social media content. It is a no-brainer.
